Ўолт Дыснэй нарадзіўся 5 сьнежня 1901 г. у Чыкага. Сярод яго продкаў былі ангельцы, ірляндцы і немцы. У 1906 г. сям'я пераехала на ферму ў штат Місуры, а ў 1910 г. — у Канзас-сіці.

15 сьнежня 1966 г. Дыснэй сканаў у Лос-Анджэласе ад раку лёгкіх, выкліканага доўгім стажам паленьня.
